During April, May, and June, the monthly export target of 200,000 tons of rice was achieved, and over 600,000 tons of rice were cumulatively exported in these three months of the fiscal year. Nationwide, approximately 20 million acres of farmland are cultivated with single-crop annually. According to the import and export announcement No. 2/2025 issued by the Trade Department of Myanmar's Ministry of Commerce on June 9, 2025, 97 agricultural products, including rice and legumes, will be incorporated into an automatic licensing system for export. Under this system, licenses will be automatically issued without further review by the Trade Department, in contrast to the previous non-automatic licensing system that required traders to apply for and obtain approval before receiving a permit.
